TRIANGLE OF Blood
World War II ends – the Cold War begins. Incredibly, Bermuda’s geopolitical importance increases. Marauding Nazi U-boats are replaced by Soviet nuclear submarines whose missiles threaten the
US East Coast. Bermuda becomes the most important and secret early warning post in the world, using a new technology called SOFAR – Sound Fixing and Ranging.
Joshua (Snapper) Jones becomes a local pilot like his father, the legendary Hooks Jones. He becomes a part-time pilot for the SOFAR Station, and a part-time deep-sea charter fisherman.
Dr. Jack Bessemer, an underwater acoustics expert, is posted to Bermuda. While completing his PhD at Caltech, he develops a strong, unrequited crush on Anna Sokratis, a femme fatale from London.
Robert (Bob) Carpenter, US Consul General to Bermuda, is the top US diplomat on the island. However, he has an important, secret Cold War mission.
The Russians will do anything to find out what the Americans are up to in Bermuda, including sending their assassins to “persuade” wayward local collaborators.
The intricate conflict of spy versus counter spy, stretching from California, to London, and Moscow, pivots around a Bermuda emerging from its own era of segregation. The story ultimately intersects with the most terrifying chapter of the Cold War – the Cuban Missile Crisis.
